Metallica, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Beck + More Set for Outside Lands
San Francisco festival to feature everything from thrash to Motown
San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will host an eclectic collection of artists for the 2012 edition of the Outside Lands festival, booked for August 10 through 12. This year’s major players include Metallica, Foo Fighters, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Stevie Wonder, Jack White and Beck. Other artists confirm include Big Boi, Franz Ferdinand, the Kills, Norah Jones, Skrillex, Andrew Bird, Passion Pit, Fun., Dr. Dog and many more. Call the festival a mix of thrash, grunge, Motown, classic rock and alternative, just to name a handful of musical genres booked.
Tickets for the Outside Lands fest will go on sale starting Thursday (April 19) at 12 p.m. PT. The festival calls itself “the world’s only gourmet music festival,” as Outside Lands will also pair music with wine and food. To check out the full artist lineup for the show, visit SFOutsideLands.com.
This is far from the only festival stop for Metallica this year. The thrash boys are also heading up their very own music festival this year, called Orion Music + More, which will rock Atlantic City, N.J., June 23-24. The performers at Orion Music + More are also as eclectic as it gets, with everything from alternative to heavy metal to country. Confirmed acts include Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, Cage the Elephant, Ghost, Eric Church and more. Find more information on Orion Music + More via the festival’s official site.
