Slayer Guitar Tech Armand Crump Dies, Musicians Offer Condolences
From Trivium to Shinedown, members of the rock and metal community Tweet thoughts about famed guitar tech’s passing
Longtime Slayer guitar tech Armand Crump passed away yesterday (May 31), and those in the metal and rock community have been offering up their heartfelt condolences on Twitter. From Shinedown to Trivium, Crump seemed to touch the lives of many musicians with his dedication to the guitar and overall good aura. He leaves behind his girlfriend Cassandra Dines, as well as many family members and friends. Cause of death has yet to be determinded. Check out a few dedications, below.
Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers Tweeted his thoughts on Crump’s passing: “For the big man with a even bigger heart … Boise tonight is got Armand! Thanks for being so nice to me.” Guns N’ Roses also offered their heartfelt condolences via Twitter: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague and friend – Guitar Tech – Your spirit lives on! RIP Armand”
Alex Skolnick of Testament expressed his feelings on his official Twitter account: ?”1 of the best gtr tech’s I’ve ever known, Armand Crump-whom I borrowed from my friend Kerrry last year-has passed away. RIP AC.” Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott Tweeted out his sincere condolences: “Just heard about guitarist Kerry King’s longtime tech Armand Crump passing away. Great guy… Was always cool to see him. Very sad news. RIP.” Trivium’s Paolo Gregoletto ?said some nice things about Crump on Twitter: “Just heard about Armand, Kerry King’s tech, passing away. He was a very nice dude and always treated us well when we toured together.
