Stone Sour’s New Album Will Arrive in October, Says Corey Taylor
Corey Taylor says new Stone Sour album is nearing completion
Stone Sour are inching closer and closer to the release of their new studio album. Dropping some details via his Twitter account on Tuesday (May 1), lead singer Corey Taylor gave fans new insight into when the band’s fourth full-length studio album will drop.
Taylor tweeted the following update: “Right now, the new SS album, which does have a title but I won’t give it away yet, is slated to be released Oct 2012.” So, not much longer, kiddies.
As for what to expect from the new album, Sour recently told Artist Direct that it will be something of a concept album. “I am looking forward to basically becoming a mad scientist in the studio and creating an album that no one wants us to make,” he said. “I pretty much got permission to do whatever I wanted, which means that I’m essentially going against the grain in an age where people are … trying to simply put out singles. We’re looking to do a double concept album and really make it destructive.”
Taylor has a busy 2012 in up ahead, seeing that his other band, Slipknot, is on this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Other bands on the roster include Motorhead, As I Lay Dying, the Devil Wears Prada, Slayer, Asking Alexandria and Whitechapel and more. The traveling festival kicks off June 30 at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif., and runs through Aug. 5 in Hartford, Conn.
