As I Lay Dying Unveil Lyric Video for ‘Cauterize’
Christian metallers As I Lay Dying prepping to release ‘Awakened’ in September
Earlier this week, Christian metal band As I Lay Dying gave fans a taste of what to expect from their hard-hitting upcoming studio album, “Awakened,” by releasing a new song, “Cauterize,” and giving it to fans for free one day only: last Monday (June 25). Now, the San Diego-based gents have released the official lyric video for “Cauterize,” which you can view below.
As I Lay Dying are also keeping busy this week with a video shoot for another new song off “Awakened,” named “A Great Foundation.” The shoot was scheduled to take place today (June 27) in Los Angeles, and the outfit recently posted a casting call of sorts for the video via Facebook: “…We are holding an open casting the day of the shoot. We need 100 athletic men for extras on set…Be prepared for a high energy shoot and to hear another new track from the record (over and over again)!” Sounds intense, guys!
“Awakened” is set to arrive Sept. 25 via Metal Blade Records. As of now, the band are still wrapping up work on the disc with producer Bill Stevenson of Black Flag and the Descendents. The release is the follow-up to As I Lay Dying’s 2011 compilation album, “Decas.”
In other band news, As I Lay Dying will be featured on the 2012 Mayhem Festival, which kicks off June 30 in San Bernardino, Calif., and runs through August 5 in Hartford, Conn. Other bands slated for the jaunt include Christian metal-core band the Devil Wears Prada, Slipknot, Slayer, Anthrax, Motorhead, I the Breather, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel and more.
