Florence + the Machine Guitarist Gets Big Gift from Katy Perry
Katy Perry feeds boyfriend’s love for vintage guitars
Guys and girls have done some pretty crazy things in the name of love, including buying each other lavish gifts. It looks like pop starlet Katy Perry isn’t immune to over-the-top gift giving, judging by a recent gift she bestowed on boyfriend Rob Ackroyd, who is the lead guitarist of alternative rock band Florence + the Machine.
According to The Sun, Perry is apparently so in love with her rock star boyfriend that she has just spent some serious money to add to his collection of vintage guitars. Perry reportedly spent over 20,000 pounds — roughly 40 thousand dollars — on a vintage Fender guitar for her new bow. The source told the publication, “She’s so smitten she’s bought Rob some very decent gifts. He’s into his vintage guitars so she knew he’d be impressed by the Fender.”
The relationship seems to be going swimmingly. Perry allegedly stayed with Mr. Ackroyd in London earlier this month when she was doing a tour in the U.K., the paper reports.
In other Florence + the Machine news, the band was recently confirmed to play the 2012 Deluna Fest, which will take place Sept. 21 through 23 at Pensacola Beach in Pensacola, Fla. Other bands slated to appear include Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, the Ben Folds Five, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and more. As for Perry, she recently debuted her new video for “Wide Awake,” and will hit the big screen on July 4 with her concert film, “Part of Me.”
