Jack White Adds 2012 North American Tour Dates
Jack White has confirmed four new 2012 North American shows
Former White Stripes frontman Jack White has just announced a new handful of North American tour dates to promote his debut solo release, “Blunderbuss.” The new stops include an Aug. 6 show in Omaha, Neb.; Aug. 10 in Los Angeles; Aug. 14 in Seattle; and Aug. 15 in Portland, Ore. Pokey LFarge & the South City Three will open for Mr. White on select dates.
“Blunderbuss” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last month with first-week sales of 138,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Members of Third Man Records’ Vault can buy special pre-sale tickets for the stops on Wednesday (June 6) at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time. For more information on tickets and the tour, head to Third Man Records’ official website.
In other White news, the singer and songwriter recently announced his desire to have one of his Third Man Records recordings be “the first vinyl record played in outer space.” As he explained it, “we want to launch a balloon that carries a vinyl record player…and figure out a way to drop the needle with all that turbulence up there and ensure that it will still play.” Would you expect anything less from the man who unleashed his new single to the world via a balloon release?
