Jack White Contemplating Releasing Lost ‘Blunderbuss’ Tracks
Jack White says he recorded a number of songs from ‘Blunderbuss’ that he has yet to release
Jack White’s debut solo album, “Blunderbuss,” was a smashing success, entering the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 earlier this year, so why not dig up some more White solo tracks? The former White Stripes frontman might do just that. White says that while he was recording his debut solo release, he recorded a big collection of songs that didn’t make the album but may surface at some point.
“I recorded maybe 25 songs [during the Blunderbuss sessions],” White told the U.K.’s MSN Music in a video interview. “I’m still working on the other ones and these ones that came out on Blunderbuss were just the ones that seemed to fit together right now.”
As for the success for “Blunderbuss,” White said that he was “surprised” that the album scored the No. 1 position on the U.K. album chart and No.1 on the Billboard 200 album chart its debut week out. “It’s always shocking to me…because I have no idea exactly what people want to hear or what they’d like to know about or what they can relate to,” White said. “I just can try and do the best of what I think is interesting or…means something to me.”
