Staind frontman Aaron Lewis says the band is going to take some time to figure out their next move

Staind fans– brace yourselves. Singer Aaron Lewis has dropped the news that the band will be taking a hiatus after they wrap up touring next year. But, don’t lose hope yet. Lewis promises fans that the upcoming time away is simply a “little break” and that there’s no talk of the band throwing in the towel.

“We’re not breaking up,” Lewis told Billboard. “We’re not gonna stop making music. We’re just going to take a little hiatus that really hasn’t ever been taken in our career. We put out seven records in 14 years. We’ve been pretty busy.”

Instead of using the break to clear their heads of Staind, Lewis says the guys will use the time to figure out their next move. Staind recently wrapped their record deal with Atlantic Records, so anything is possible.

“I think it would take a ridiculous, ridiculous check for me to be willing to sign a label deal again, but there’s many other ways to do it,” Lewis said. “Everything is changing so much; every time you close your eyes and then open them again, the business has changed a little bit. So we’ll see when we get there what we’re gonna do.”

Staind will set off on the Rockstar Uproar Tour next month alongside P.O.D., Papa Roach, Shinedown, Godsmack, Thousand Foot Krutch and more next month. The traveling rock show launches off Aug. 17 in Kansas City, Mo., and runs through Sept. 30 in Albuquerque, N.M.
