Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne to Tie the Knot
Sources say Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne ‘Really Understand Each Other’
Yes, it’s true: Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and pop singer Avril Lavigne are set to say “I do.” While many fans are beyond shocked at the news, friends close to the soon-to-be happy couple say they’re a match made in heaven.
“They have the same values and really understand each other,” a family source told People magazine. “They complement each other and are so happy.” Need proof? Check out a photo of the happy twosome, with Lavigne flinging around her 14-carat engagement ring, is now up on People’s website.
While the engagement is definitely on, the two have yet to pin down a date. One of Lavigne’s friends told the magazine, “They haven’t set a date. They’re really enjoying the moment.”
According to People, the two are ten years apart in age (he’s 37, and she’s 27), and they first met when they worked together on Lavigne’s upcoming album. This will be Kroeger’s first marriage and Lavigne’s second.
The Vancouver Sun is reporting that the couple will be featured on the cover of the Canadian edition of Hello! Magazine, set to hit stores Tuesday. The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Alison Eastwood, told The Vancouver Sun that the two are perfect for each other. “I think we can safely call them Canada’s new super couple. Between them they have sold, I think, something like 18 million albums, so they’re quite a powerhouse.” She added that Kroeger is “totally besotted with Avril…he’s just beaming from ear to ear. We have never seen Chad Kroeger look so happy.”
