Upon Wings Showcase Operatic Vocals in ‘The Dream’ Music Video
Female-fronted operatic metal band releases music video for ‘The Dream’
Upon Wings are prepping for the release of their debut album, but in-between recording sessions, the group decided to unleash a music video for their current single, “The Dream.” The outfit premiered the clip on their official website, and it’s available to view below.
The clip features operatic singing amid snippets of black roses, creepy nature shots and eerie landscapes. Musically, the sound is drawing comparisons to Nightwish, Evanescence and Lacuna Coil, thanks to the classical textures.
“This was a huge accomplishment for Upon Wings, to put out our first music video,” Upon Wings said in an official statement. “We’ve gotten such a warm response for ‘The Dream,’ and I’m glad we were able to put together a music video to compliment the song. We are honored by the positive response and can’t wait to release our new music soon.”
Upon Wings recently recorded new music at Johnny K’s legendary Goovemaster Studios in Chicago with a producer who they will announce soon. As for “The Dream,” the song has garnered nearly 10,000 Soundcloud plays and been played on a variety of metal radio stations. Upon Wings co-wrote the track with Michigan-based, Grammy-nominated producer and mixing engineer Glenn Brown, who has worked with Kid Rock, Evans Blue, the Verve Pipe and others.
