Blink-182 drummer gives update on band’s upcoming album

Blink-182 peeps ready to hear new music from the band will be happy to note that drummer Travis Barker has confirmed that the guys are knee-deep in the creative process for the pop-punk band’s upcoming, new album. With the mammoth success of Blink-182’s 2011 album, “Neighborhoods,” Barker says the band are as excited as ever about the prospect of new Blink-182 music.

“We had seven years off, and the last album… was us barely getting back into the rhythm, recording an album because it was expected of us and we’d gotten back together and everyone wanted to hear new music,” Barker recently told Britain’s Rhythm magazine.

Barker added that the finest Blink-182 tracks are up ahead. “I feel like the best is yet to come, the next album is going to be exciting,” he said. “For the most part the last album was recorded in different studios, we weren’t always in the same room. We made it happen and it was the best it could be at the time with us three. I think in the future it can be crazy.”

Blink-182 bass player Mark Hoppus recently announced via his Google+ account that he has already started work on new music for the band, stating “Yes, this is me opening a new file for a blink-182 song…”
