Linkin Park’s 2012 World Tour Teams with National Weather Service
Linkin Park’s upcoming tour is ‘storm ready,’ according to National Weather Service
Those heading to Linkin Park’s 2012 world tour can rest assured they’re safe if any impending storm were to hit the tour. Linkin Park have taken some steps to protect their fans, as their world tour is the first tour to partake in the National Weather Service’s StormReady program, which was initiated to “enhance an organization’s awareness, preparedness, response, recovery, emergency public notification, and public education related to hazardous weather events,” according to an official statement. On top of that, the plan affects the tour’s broad emergency management plan, if any general emergency were to occur.
“It is vital to have an emergency preparedness plan in place when dealing with large venue events,” National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Smith said in a statement. “Receiving the StormReady designation illustrates the concert tour’s proactive approach to weather-related hazards and we have confidence that this accomplishment will establish a trend in the industry as a whole.”
Right now, Linkin Park are making the touring rounds with fellow alternative music men Incubus. The two bands’ Honda Civic Tour is traveling around North America through Sept. 10 in San Diego, including stops in Dallas, Houston, Denver and more.
