Grunge rockers Mudhoney are set to unleash a new live DVD just in time for Christmas
When it comes to grunge music, it doesn’t get much more classic than Mudhoney. Now, the legendary grunge band have a fresh live DVD set to hit retail stores and online outlets this fall. “Live in Berlin, 1988” will arrive on Nov. 13, and the DVD will feature the group’s set at 1988’s Berlin Independent Days festival, which marked their debut European concert.
“We couldn’t understand quite why this was happening, why ours was the band that was flying out, or what was going on,” lead singer and guitarist Mark Arm said in an official statement. “We’d only played Portland, outside of Seattle, at that point. And to be flown out to Berlin to play a show, at that point, seemed almost like a joke to us.”
“Live in Berlin, 1988” offers over 40 minutes of live concert footage and packs plenty of tracks from Mudhoney’s 1988 EP, “Superfuzz Bigmuff,” and their 1989 self-titled, debut record. With the holidays coming up, it might be a prize Christmas gift for the grunge-loving buddy on your list.
