Grunge vets Dinosaur Jr. are set to release a new live album in November

Before Nirvana, there was Dinosaur Jr., one of the pioneering groups in the grunge-rock genre. Now, Dinosaur Jr. are coming up on the 25th anniversary of their second studio release, “Living All Over Me,” and to commemorate the occasion, the band will unleash a rare live performance in November. The release will feature Dinosaur Jr.’s original lineup of frontman J Mascis, bass player Lou Barlow and drummer Emmett Jefferson “Murph” Murphy III rocking classic hits such as “Severed Lips,” “In a Jar” and more. The album, “Chocomel Daze,” was recorded at the group’s 1987 live gig at Doornroosje, Nijmegen, Netherlands.

“We were young on our first Euro tour,” Mascis explained in an official statement. “It was amazing to get hotels and food. We were treated a million times better than we were used to in the states. And only driving like 45 minutes a day to the next Dutch town. Good times.”

“Chocomel Daze” hits stores and online outlets on Nov. 19. It’s available for pre-order via MergeRecords.com. Check out the full track listing below.
