Pearl Jam Bass Player Jeff Ament Talks RNDM, New Pearl Jam Album

Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament says his new album with RNDM features songs he’s worked on for 15 years
Pearl Jam bass player Jeff Ament has opened up about the lengthy writing process behind his new album, “Acts,” which he’s gearing up to release with his side project, RNDM. Ament says he amassed the tracks on “Acts” from a multitude of music he’d been writing and perfecting over the past decade and a half.
“Five or six years ago, I started looking at my cupboards and realized I had, like, 200 unfinished songs,” Ament told the Toronto Sun. “So I took it upon myself to finish things. My cupboards are a little lighter and that feels somehow better.”
“Acts” is slated to hit stores and online outlets today (Oct. 30). Meanwhile, Ament fielded questions regarding when the next Pearl Jam album might surface. Unfortunately, it’s not the best news for Pearl Jam fans, as Ament says there’s nothing definitive on the horizon. “There’s nothing really scheduled [for Pearl Jam] right now,” Ament said. “I’m sure once we get through the holidays, we’ll get on the phone with each other and figure out what we’re doing next.”
