30 Seconds to Mars’ Jared Leto to Star in New Movie with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner
Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars is set to appear in a new film project called ‘The Dallas Buyer’s Club’
While Jared Leto rose to fame as an actor in the ‘90s teenage drama “My So-Called Life,” he has been firmly committed to his band 30 Seconds to Mars as of late and hasn’t taken on an any acting roles for the past three years. Now, the singer and guitarist has announced he’ll be acting alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner in a new film project called “The Dallas Buyer’s Club,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story of “The Dallas Buyer’s Club” revolves around a Texas man (McConaughey) who following being diagnosed with AIDS and told he has six months to live, resorts to sneaking alternative drugs into the U.S. to help him and others deal with the pain. The drama is based on a true story. Filming starts next week in New Orleans.
In addition to his work with 30 Seconds to Mars and in various acting roles, Leto is also a director. Most recently, he took on the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins to direct Thirty Seconds to Mars’ documentary “Artifact,” which scored the coveted People’s Choice documentary award at the Toronto Film Festival last month.
