Blur guitarist says band isn’t planning to release a new album anytime soon
Waiting around for a new Blur album? Don’t hold your breath. Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has put a nix to hopes of a new Blur album dropping at any point soon via Twitter. In response to a fan’s tweet asking, “Is there a new Blur album coming out? If so, when,” Coxon tweeted an unequivocal “no.”
Don’t fret too much, though, as Blur have a headlining show at the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium lined up for next summer. The band shared the news with fans via a post on their official website: “Thank you for waiting … Rock Werchter is about to announce that Blur will headline next July. We’re excited … hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while. Don’t know where yet, we’ll tell as soon as we do.” So, Blur are still alive and kicking.
In addition to Blur, other bands slated to play the Rock Werchter Festival include Green Day, Kings of Leon, Depeche Mode, Volbeat and more. The festival is schedule for July 4 through 7.
