Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl to Host SiriusXM Radio Show
Foo Fighters frontman set to host his own radio show
Foo Fighters fans are already looking forward to frontman Dave Grohl’s upcoming documentary chronicling the story of Los Angeles’ iconic Sound City studio, where a plethora of rock greats laid down tape, from Grohl’s former band, Nirvana, to Tom Petty to Metallica. Now, before fans have a chance to catch the film in theaters or on disc, Grohl will commemorate the legacy of Sound City with his very own show on SiriusXM.
“Dave Grohl Presents Sound City” will debut Thursday (Nov. 29) at 4 p.m. EST on SiriusXM’s Classic Vinyl channel. Set to run every Thursday at 4 p.m. ET for nine weeks, each week will offer stories about the albums recorded at the legendary Sound City, including Metallica’s “Death Magnetic,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” and, of course, Nirvana’s sophomore opus “Nevermind.” The series’ final episode is set to air on Jan. 24, and it will feature a talk about the upcoming Sound City documentary with Dave Grohl. “I’m so proud of the Sound City film and beyond excited for the world to see what I’ve been working on for the past year,” Grohl said in an official statement. “Even before that, though, I’m grateful to SiriusXM for giving me the opportunity to share all this great music and to let people know what got me excited about Sound City in the first place.” (Photo credit: Steve Gullick.)
