Linkin Park, .fun, Mumford & Sons Earn Preliminary People’s Choice Nominations
The preliminary nominees for the People’s Choice Awards include Linkin Park, Mumford & Sons and .fun
It’s that time again: time for the annual People’s Choice Awards. While the official nominees for the 39th annual People’s Choice Awards won’t be revealed until Nov. 15, fans are now able to vote via the People’s Choice website for their top picks in the preliminary contest.
Topping the list in the rock areas are Mumford & Sons, Linkin Park, fun. and Gotye, who each hold two preliminary nominations. Nominees for the Favorite Band Category include Linkin Park, Mumford & Sons, No Doubt, Green Day, Shinedown, Dave Matthews Band, the Killers, the Black Keys and Van Halen, among others.
Artists representing in the Favorite Song category include fun. with “We Are Young” and Gotye with his chart-topped “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Bands included in the Favorite Album category include fun., Gotye, Mumford & Sons and Linkin Park.
While a lot or artists are involved in the preliminary rounds for the People’s Choice Awards, only the artists who get enough votes will advance to the final Top 5 in each area. The final 2013 People’s Choice Awards will air live on CBS on Jan. 9.
