Soundgarden Announce 2013 Tour Dates
Grunge men Soundgarden have plotted out a short 2013 club tour
Soundgarden are hitting the road! The legendary grunge rock band has announced dates for a headlining tour in 2013 in support of their first studio album in over 15 years, “King Animal,” which arrives in stores this Tuesday (Nov. 13). The North American tour sets off on Jan. 18 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and makes its way through Detroit, New York, Chicago, Seattle and more cities before wrapping up at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, Calif., on Feb. 16.
Pre-sale tickets for all the gigs begin for Soundgarden fan club members on Monday (Nov. 12). Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday (Nov. 16).
As if that weren’t enough Soundgarden news for today, the band has also unleashed the new music video for their first single off “King Animal,” “Been Away Too Long.” The dramatic video features a woman who is struggling to break out of a dingy hospital. It’s not the most up-beat video, as in the end, the woman is killed which she hits her hand against the familiar-looking pile of bleached animal skulls that appear on the cover of “King Animal.” Watch the video on Soundgarden’s official Vevo channel.
