Alabama Shakes Announce 2013 Tour Dates
Alternative rockers Alabama Shakes are hitting the road next year
Alabama Shakes are one of the most buzzed-about, up-and-coming alternative rock bands of 2012. The band released their debut full-length, “Boys & Girls,” in April of this year, and the guys are showing no signs of slowing down, as they’re just added a new string of North American tour dates to 2013 itinerary.
Alabama Shakes will kick off their latest jaunt at the Knitting Factory in Boise on March 1 and continue through Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, New Orleans, Dallas and beyond before wrapping up at Hal + Mal’s Street Dance in Jackson, Miss. Openers for the trek will include Michael Kiwanuka, Sam Doores and Riley Downing. Check out the full list of tour dates below. In other news, the group just picked up three Grammy nominations: Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance and Best Packaging. “We are so honored and thrilled and really want to thank everyone for the support,” the band said in a statement. “Extra extra special thanks to our incredible families. We love you.”
