Muse Cancel Three Shows Due to Frontman Matt Bellamy’s Broken Foot
Muse nix three European shows due to frontman’s foot injury
Muse have pulled the plug on three of their upcoming European shows, as singer and guitarist Matt Bellamy has broken some bones his foot. The trio posted a note on their official website apologizing and explaining that they are nixing the gigs to give Bellamy time to rest his foot.
“We’re very sorry to have to announce that Muse’s forthcoming shows in Oslo, Stockholm and Malmo have been cancelled as Matt has broken two bones in his foot,” the band stated. “The band have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel these gigs as they feel that they will not be able to do justice to their live show and the fans who have bought tickets with Matt performing on crutches. Muse would like to apologize to all their fans who have tickets to these shows.”
Bellamy also took to his personal Twitter account on Thursday (Nov. 29) to tell fans about his hurt foot, tweeting, “Ouch! Broke my foot…,” along with a photo of an x-ray of his injured foot. When a fan asked him how he sustained the injury, he tweeted, “I was running barefoot and slipped — my foot broke the fall on a concrete step!”
Those holding tickets for the canceled contacts are being told to contact the venue’s box offices for refunds. Muse’s tour is scheduled to resume at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, on Dec. 10.
