Neon Trees, Kings of Leon, Papa Roach and More React to Connecticut School Shooting
Rockers reaction to Connecticut school shooting
Following the horrific news that over 27 people, the majority of them elementary school children, were killed by a lone gunman at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school today (Dec. 14), musicians are taking to Twitter to react to the news and offer their condolences. Here’s what they have to say:
Neon Trees frontman Tyler Glenn tweeted, “Absolutely crushed, in my heart, reading these school shooting reports. Crushed at the death of so many kids in such a heinous way no less.”
Kings of Leon singer Nathan Followill stated, “Just saw the tragic news about the school shooting. As a soon to be father this is tragic. My thoughts & prayers are with the families. #sad.”
Papa Roach tweeted, “Wow. Our hearts go out to the victims of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut. Sad and sickening.”
Nonpoint stated, “Our hearts, prayers and condolences go out to the families that have been affected with the shooting in CT. What awful news to wake up to.”
All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter tweeted “I am shattered by the news of the shooting today in CT. My heart and deepest condolences go out to those poor families. Such a heavy blow,” followed by, “I think we need to stop identifying the shooters of these tragedies. We deify them with saturation when their name should disappear first.”
