Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder is now a bona fide radio host

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is usually one to shy away from publicity, but in a twist of fate, Vedder is on target to host his own radio show, “The Eddie Vedder Radio Show,” on SiriusXM’s Pearl Jam Radio. The show is set to kick off on Wednesday (Dec. 5) at 5 p.m. ET. Don’t expect this to be a full-time gig, though, as the show will be a limited-run engagement, with the end date not yet confirmed.

“Eddie has been the voice of a generation and a voice with a conscience,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer, in a statement. “[His] record collection could tell some stories all by itself, let alone with Eddie at the helm.”

Music-wise, expect to hear Vedder break out “many of his all-time favorite songs, from early punk rock influences to unreleased material from his personal archives,” states an official release. As for content, Vedder is expected to embellish on his musical influences and share personal stories about his lengthy career.

The news comes on the heels of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl scoring his own SiriusXM show, “Dave Grohl Presents Sound City,” which premiered on the Vinyl Channel last Thursday (Nov. 29). Grohl’s show is set to run through Jan. 24.
