As I Lay Dying and the Devil Wears Prada Kick off 2013 Marathon Metalcore Tour
Christian metallers As I Lay Dying and the Devil Wears Prada are touring North America this spring
As I Lay Dying and the Devil Wears Prada kicked off their 2013 co-headlining North American run this week, called the Marathon Metalcore Tour, and the fact these two are touring together shouldn’t be a shocker. After all, both bands performed on last summer’s Mayhem festival. Both are favorites in the Christian hardcore and metal genres. In addition, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis sang guest vocals the Devil Wears Prada’s song “Constance,” which appears on “Dead Throne.”
The Devil Wears Prada are on tour in support of their latest full-length, 2011’s “Dead Throne,” and plan to hit the studio to start recording the follow-up to that release following this tour. As I Lay Dying are out in support of their sixth studio album, 2012’s “Awakened.”
As for the rest of the lineup, For Today are slated to appear on the tour for all dates except March 7 and 8. More support will come from the likes of the Color Morale (opening act from Feb. 22 through March 7) and the Chariot (on the bill from March 8 through April 4).
The Marathon Metalcore Tour will run now through April 4 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Find the full tour roster below.
