Yeah Yeah Yeahs Post Teaser for ‘Mosquito’ on YouTube
Yeah Yeah Yeahs will release their new album, ‘Mosquito,’ on April 16
Alternative rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs are coming up on the release of their latest studio album, “Mosquito,” set to drop on April 16. Although the release date it pretty far off, the band doesn’t want to make fans wait any longer to hear a piece of the new music, and they’ve posted a trailer online for the upcoming fourth release.
The 49-second snippet shows trippy clips of Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing a new song in a grey and white room adorned with white Christmas tree lights.
Singer Karen O says this album presents a different sound for the band. “I think this record has more moodier and tripped-out songs than you’ve ever heard from us,” she said in an official statement. “You might catch some roots reggae and minimalist psychedelia influences in there. This is a feel good, food for the soul, chicken soup for the ears Yeah Yeah Yeahs record — which doesn’t mean easy listening — it means kind of raw, kind of chaotic, kind of dreamy. Very us.”
In other Yeah Yeah Yeahs news, the band will be on tour this spring, including an appearance at this year’s South by Southwest music festival, which takes place March 12 through 17 in Austin, Texas. Visit the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ official website for a full list of tour dates.
