Alter Bridge to Start Recording New Album in April, Says Mark Tremonti
New music from Alter Bridge is on the way, according to guitarist Mark Tremonti
The guys of Alter Bridge have been taking some time off from the road and recording to allow frontman Myles Kennedy to tour with Slash and guitarist Mark Tremonti to pursue a solo project. Now, Tremonti says the band has about five tracks “outlined” for the new album from Alter Bridge, and the guys plan to start the recording process in late April.
As for what to expect from the new music, Tremonti says it’s “real fun rock/metal,” according to Billboard. “We want to not be predictable; we want to make it a little surprising, and we’re having fun with it,” he said.
Tremonti also says Alter Bridge want to finish up work on the new album sometime this summer and start touring in support of the set in September.
Right now, Tremonti is plenty busy with his side project, Tremonti, and he’s on the road in support of his debut solo release, “All I Was.”
“I feel like it’s really gotten some traction now,” he said, when asked about the side band. “I think doubling back, doing a few tours on it now, the crowds are growing. People are becoming more familiar with the songs. It’s exciting to see things spreading.”
