Incubus guitarist Einziger clarifies rumors that he’s working on Pearl Jam’s upcoming album
Incubus fans that were getting psyched to hear guitarist Mike Einziger’s rumored collaboration with Pearl Jam will be disappointed to hear that it’s not going to happen. Last week, the Incubus player posted a photo on his Twitter account of him hanging out with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, plus the tweet, “In the studio with my girl and Eddie Vedder, recording strings for Pearl Jam’s new album.” The photo started a barrage of rumors that Einziger would be laying down guitar lines on Pearl Jam’s much-anticipated forthcoming full-length.
On Friday, Einziger went back on Twitter to clarify his tweet, which has since been deleted. As it turns out, he isn’t collaborating with Pearl Jam on their upcoming album at all. He clarified, “So media outlets, please stop announcing that I am playing on @pearljam new album. NOT TRUE.”
In other Incubus news, lead singer Brandon Boyd recently announced that he’s been hard at work on a new solo album. As for timing, he says he’s he’d like to get the album out as soon as possible, but he’s currently working on some logistics to get it all in order. Read more here.
