Morrissey Postpones San Francisco Show Due to Double Pneumonia
Former Smiths singer’s health issues cause him to postpone another tour date
They say when it rains, it pours, and that is certainly the case with Morrissey’s health problems as of late. The former Smiths singer recently postponed a crop of tour dates due to several health issues, including a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus. Now, the frontman postponed a show that was scheduled to happen last Saturday (March 9) at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco because of a vague illness posted on his official Facebook page.
“Due to Morrissey’s medical condition, tonight’s engagement at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco will need to be rescheduled and will now take place on May 1,” the message stated. “All tickets previously purchased for the Regency Ballroom show will be honored on the new date.”
According to a message from Morrissey’s publicist, the offender this time was double pneumonia. Thankfully, he’s expected to be just fine, and his tour is set to resume this Thursday (March 14) at Vive Latino in Mexico. Meanwhile, Morrissey’s remaining U.S. tour dates are set to kick off March 18 at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, Kan., and run through the May 1 makeup date in San Francisco.
