Soundgarden to Release ‘King Animal’ Demos for Record Store Day
Grunge guys Soundgarden will release never-before heard demos from their ‘King Animal’ session on Record Store Day
The 2013 edition of Record Store Day takes place on April 20 this year, and that means plenty of bands are making plans to release exclusive sets in honor of the day. The annual event, which is in its sixth year this year, is devoted to supporting local, independently-owned brick-and-mortar stores and classic vinyl.
Grunge greats Soundgarden have announce they will be unleashing a special release as part of Record Store Day 2013. The Chris Cornell-fronted group will release a limited-edition, 10-inch pink vinyl record that includes six demo tracks recorded while putting together “King Animal,” their latest album and first studio release in over 15 years. According to Soundgarden’s official Facebook page, this is the first time these recordings have been available together. The vinyl record also comes packaged with a free download, so fans can check out the tracks on their digital devices.
