This year’s Gathering of the Vibes Festival will feature headliners the Black Crowes and Phil Lesh & Friends

The Black Crowes and Phil Lesh and Friends have been tapped to headline the 2013 Gathering of the Vibes festival, which is scheduled for July 25-28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Conn.

Specifically, the Phil Lesh and Friends lineup will bring together jazz guitarist John Scofield and keyboardist John Medeski; drummer Joe Russo and vocalist and guitarist John Kadlecik of Furthur.

The rest of the festival lineup will bring together a wide variety of talent, including the Roots, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Funky Meters, Tribal Seeds, Max Creek, Dark Star Orchestra, Fishbone and John Butler Trio. Wavy Gravy, best known of the Woodstock festival emcee, will host.

Now in its 18th year, Gathering of the Vibes is an annual music, arts and camping festival that draws roughly 20,000 spectators each year. Aside from featuring tried-and-tried talent, the festival strives to serve as “a launching pad for extraordinarily talented, young, up-and-coming bands,” according to the fest’s official website.
