Johnny Marr pulled out some Smiths classics during his performance at Coachella last weekend

The Smiths, once again, may have refused to reunite at Coachella this year, but guitarist Johnny Marr was on hand to rock the sun-soaked crowd. During his set, Marr pulled out songs from his new solo album, “The Messenger,” as well as a handful of Smiths classics. Check out a video of Marr covering the Smiths’ “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” below.

Other Smiths tunes Marr performed included “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before” and “How Soon Is Now?” The rest of his set list included “The Right Thing Right,” “Upstarts,” “Sun and Moon,” “The Messenger,” “Generate! Generate!,” “New Town Velocity” and “Word Starts Attack.”

Marr is on tour in the U.S. through early June, playing club venues in Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Detroit, Seattle and beyond. Check out the full tour roster on his official website.
