MGMT Release New Song, ‘Alien Days’

MGMT released their new single, “Alien Days,” last weekend in conjunction with Record Store Day, but those who didn’t have a chance to score the single yet can still stream it online. The alternative rock outfit has posted a stream of “Alien Days” on their Soundcloud account. Take a listen to the tune below, or check it out via YouTube.

“Alien Days” is the debut single from MGMT’s upcoming third studio release, which is slated to arrive sometime in June. As for how the band describes the ditty, singer Andrew VanWyngarden recently told Rolling Stone that the single is “about that feeling when a parasitic alien is in your head, controlling things.” A specific release date for the new album is expected to be announced soon.

MGMT are already gearing up to take “Alien Days” on the road. The guys will kick off their latest trek on Friday, April 26, at Penn State University in University Park, Penn., and the tour runs through July 13 at Bunbury Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.
