Ozzy Osbourne says he and wife Sharon are not divorcing

Earlier today (April 15), TMZ reported a possible split between famed metal-loving couple Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. The news was quite a shock to Ozzy fans that have seen the couple grow up before their eyes. Now, Ozzy has issued an official statement via Facebook regarding the rumor, and the note further explains his recent troubles.

In the note, Ozzy says he’s been struggling with addiction issues and has been “drinking and taking drugs” for the past year and a half. On a brighter note, he adds that he’s been sober for 44 days. Ozzy also says he and Sharon are not divorcing.

Here’s Ozzy’s official statement via Facebook:

“For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.

I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.

Ozzy and Sharon have been married for 31 years and have 3 children. According to TMZ, Sharon is currently residing at the Beverly Hills Hotel, while Ozzy is currently staying in a rented home several miles from the Bev Hills Hotel.
