Rock legends the Rolling Stones have been surprising audiences at their current string of North American concerts with a few surprise guests. Last Saturday (May 11), rumors swirled that pop starlet Katy Perry would join the Stones onstage at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas that night. Right before the performance, both the Stones and Perry confirmed the appearance, and soon thereafter, Perry appeared onstage to duet with frontman Mick Jagger on the Stones tune “Beast of Burden.” Watch a fan-shot video of the performance below.
After the Stones tweeted out that Perry would be appearing with them in Las Vegas, Katy tweeted that she was “much obliged and honored” to appear with the iconic rockers. Following the performance, she added, “Yes, I just did gyrated on Mick Jagger. WHAT?!” She followed up that tweet with a response to a fan who noticed that her grammar needed some help, exclaiming, “I noticed that. I guess I was too excited. Sorry mom.”
Previously, the Stones have invited stars such as Gwen Stefani and Keith Urban to perform on their current 50 and Counting tour. The trek celebrates the band’s 50th anniversary. For more details and tour dates, head to the Rolling Stones’ official website.
