AFI Announce New Album, Sign to Republic Records
AFI will release their upcoming, ninth studio album on Republic Records
It’s official: AFI have a new home, as the California-based goth-punk group has inked with Republic Records. Frontman Davey Havok dropped the news on Thursday (June 27), stating that AFI was the newest act on the label’s register and would release a new album on Republic soon.
“We are thrilled to be joining the Republic family for the release of our ninth record,” Havok said in an official statement. “We’ve spent over two years realizing this album and could not be more excited to share it with all.”
AFI hasn’t revealed the exact release date for the upcoming album, but the band previously teased fans with a video about the upcoming album and hinted that it would arrive in September.
In other AFI news, the band is slated to play a few Riot Fest performances this fall. The group will perform at Riot Fest in Chicago, Ill., Sept. 13-15 and at Riot Fest in Denver, Colo., Sept. 21-22. The band is also expected to announce a headlining tour shortly.
