Farm Aid Music and Food rolls out 2013 lineup
The annual Farm Aid Music and Food Festival is scheduled for Sept. 21 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and as always, the event will benefit the Farm Aid organization, which supports and promotes American family farmers. Founding partners Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson are all set to perform at this year’s event, along with longstanding board member Dave Matthews and Dave Matthews Band guitarist Tim Reynolds.
Additional musicians booked for this year’s event include Jack Johnson; Toad the Wet Sprocket; Young’s wife, Pegi, playing with her band, the Survivors; Nelson’s son Lukas and his group Promise of the Real; Carlene Carter; Amos Lee; Kacey Musgraves; JD & the Straight Shot; and Bahamas.
Along with the theme of benefiting American family farmers, the festival will serve up a collection of concessions featuring locally grown, organic treats.
