Buddy Guy’s new album features rocker Kid Rock and members of Aerosmith
Blues great Buddy Guy is coming up on the release of his latest album, “Rhythm & Blues,” and he has tapped a few rockers to help him with the upcoming set. Kid Rock and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford are all featured on the new album, which arrives on July 30, Guy’s 77th birthday.
The release is divided into two themed discs, one called Rhythm and the other called Blues.
Kid Rock appears on a song called “Messin’ with the Kid” on the Rhythm CD, while the members of Aerosmith appear on a song called “Evil Twin” on the Blues CD. Other artists slated to appear on the set include Keith Urban, Gary Clark Jr. and Beth Hart.
Buddy Guy’s new album is the follow-up to his 2010 release, “Living Proof,” which scored the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. For more on the upcoming release, head to Guy’s official website.
