Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Dave Matthews to Appear on New Gov’t Mule Album
Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge and Slash, Dave Matthews among guests on new Gov’t Mule release
Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge and Slash, Dave Matthews and Jim James of My Morning Jacket are among the musicians who have been tapped to appear on Gov’t Mule’s upcoming double album, “Shout!” The vocalists will appear on the album’s second disc, and they’ll sing songs that appear on the album’s first CD, bringing their own personal flair.
“We’ve always taken a nontraditional approach to everything we’ve done, and it works for us,” Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes in an official statement. “One of things we’re very proud of about this record is that all the songs stand up for themselves and have their own personality.”
He added, “Hopefully, hearing another singer interpret them helps shine even more of a light on the songs and somewhere in that picture people get a glimpse of what Gov’t Mule does.”
“Shout!” will arrive in all the usual outlets on Sept. 24. In addition to Kennedy, Matthews and James, the second disc will also feature guest performances from Glenn Hughes, Elvis Costello, Ben Harper, Dr. John, Toots Hibbert, Grace Potter, Ty Taylor and Steve Winwood.
