Sixx: A.M. Plotting New Album, Says Nikki Sixx
Nikki Sixx says a new Sixx: A.M. album is on the way
Nikki Sixx and the guys of Sixx: A.M. are making some decent headway on their upcoming album. Sixx recently took to his official Facebook page to post a message about the new release, and he dropped the news that he has booked studio time with the rest of Sixx: A.M. to start recording tunes for their follow-up to 2011’s “This Is Gonna Hurt.”
“Writing Sixx: A.M. lyrics today at home,” Nikki stated in the post. “Cutting bass parts tomorrow with [frontman] James [Michael] and DJ [Ashba] will be laying down his guitar parts when he returns from Canada…This album is coming together fast…Time to start thinking of an album title.”
Sixx is currently on the road playing bass in his other band, legendary ‘80s rockers Motley Crue. That trek closes out on July 22 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Meanwhile, Motley Crue are slated to hold their second Las Vegas residency this fall with a 12-show stint at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. That show runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 6.
In other Nikki Sixx news, the musician took to social media yesterday (July 17) to express his disapproval for Rolling Stone magazine putting the Boston Marathon bomber on the cover of their August issue. Read his reaction here.
