Skillet and August Burns Red have notched Top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200 chart

Congratulations are in order for both Skillet and August Burns Red, as the heavy-hitting bands scored top 10 spots on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week.

Skillet took the No. 4 spot on the chart with their ninth studio release, “Rise,” which sold 60,000 copies this week, reports Nielsen SoundScan. The Christian hard rock band’s last album, 2009’s “Awake,” also earned Skillet a top 10 position on the chart, debuting No. 2 on the chart and, according to Nielsen SoundScan, pushing 68,000 copies that debut week.

“Thank you so much to all our fans all over the world!” Skillet wrote to fans on their official Facebook page.

For August Burns Red, this week marks their first time in the Billboard 200’s Top 10. The Christian metallers took the No. 9 spot on the chart with their new album, “Rescue & Restore,” which pushed 26,000 copies over the week, reports Nielsen SoundScan. August Burns Red’s last album, 2011’s “Leveler,” debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart.

August Burns Red also took to Facebook to thank their fans for the support: “Today a metal band debuted in the Billboard Top 10! Thank you so much!”
