Metallica release 15-track download of secret Comic-Con show on LiveMetallica.com
Last month, Metallica surprised fans at the San Diego Comic-Con with a secret concert at the Spreckels Theatre to promote their upcoming 3D concert movie, “Through the Never.” Now, the guys are selling a download of the full live performance on their Metallica Live website.
Fans are given the option to purchase individual songs for $0.99 each or the full, 15-song set for $7.99 in MP3 format. The track list includes a collection of some of the metal band’s biggest songs, including “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Ride the Lightning,” “Seek and Destroy,” “Master of Puppets,” “One” and more. The band also recently released a 24-minute video packing footage of the band rehearsing for the Comic-Con show and picking the set list, as well as footage of the band performing “Seek & Destroy” at the show, Metallica’s 1983 debut studio release, “Kill ‘Em All.”
“Through the Never” is scheduled to open at IMAX theaters across North America for one week beginning on Sept. 27. After the film runs in IMAX theaters, the show will open in other theaters beginning on Oct. 4.
