Staind guitarist Mike Mushok is using his downtime from the group to help kids that want to become guitar players. By signing up for a subscription-based service called Jam Play, up-and-coming guitarists can receive online lessons from Mushok on everything from technique to songwriting. The site also has Mushok giving detailed instructions on how to play some of Staind’s popular post-grunge hits.
“I have been a fan of Mike Mushok for over a decade,” JamPlay co-founder Chris Dawson said in an official statement. “We are excited for the opportunity to present his knowledge to students around the globe.”
As for the pricing, Jam Play is currently offering one-month memberships for $19.95, quarterly memberships for $49.95 and yearly memberships for $139.95. For more information, head to Jam Play’s official website.
In other Mushok news, the guitarist recently joined former Metallica bass player Jason Newsted’s band, Newsted. The group releases its debut full-length album, “Heavy Metal Music,” today (Aug. 6). Newsted released their debut EP, “Metal,” earlier this year.
