Young the Giant Announce New Album Title and Release Date

Young the Giant’s sophomore album, ‘Mind Over Matter,’ will arrive in January

Young the Giant have been holed up in a studio working hard on their new album, and now, the California-based alternative band has announced a release date for that much-anticipated collection. The group has confirmed that they’ll release their sophomore studio album, “Mind Over Matter,” on Jan. 21, 2014.

So, what exactly should fans expect from the upcoming Young the Giant album? To help answer that question, the guys have posted a short, black-and-white video featuring the album’s debut single, “It’s About Time,” on their official website. The single is also available for purchase via iTunes.

Young the Giant will hit the road in support of “Mind Over Matter,” and the group is planning to release tour dates soon.

Young the Giant’s 2010 self-titled debut spawned the hit singles “Cough Syrup,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and “My Body,” which hit No. 5 on the Alternative Songs chart. Both singles were certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
