Singer Aaron Bruno says AWOLNATION’s new album will feature some unlikely collaborations
AWOLNATION are hard at work on their new music concoction, and according to singer Aaron Bruno, the new album will feature some unique collaborations. In fact, the upcoming sophomore album will feature a tune with former Journey lead singer Steve Perry.
“We became friends,” Bruno told Rolling Stone. “It feels weird for me to talk about — I feel like I’m bragging about how this legend likes the music I’ve written. But he asked for my number. He reached out to me.”
So far, Bruno says AWOLNATION has nine songs written for the as-yet-untitled album. The new tunes, he added, are “a little bit more reflective, more about human relationships.”
AWOLNATION have spent much of the past few years on the road, so they were ready to get back into the studio. “We were touring for three years, so I had a lot of time to spend alone on that bus and think about the way I wanted to make the record and grow, hopefully, into another dimension,” he said. “I’d like to push myself and get better.”
