The Pixies Tap Bass Player Paz Lenchatin of A Perfect Circle, ZWAN
The Pixies have a new bass player: Paz Lenchatin of A Perfect Circle and ZWAN
The Pixies have a replacement for bass player Kim Shattuck, who recently left the band following its 2013 tour, and the new player is a big name. The group has announced that Paz Lenchantin will step in for Shattuck, and she’ll bring years of bass playing experience with the likes of A Perfect Circle, ZWAN and the Entrance Band.
“We are really looking forward to playing with her,” drummer David Lovering said in an official statement. “Working with different bass players is very new for the band, but we’re having a great time doing it.”
The Pixies are also in the news this week with their new music video for “Another Toe in the Ocean,” a song off their latest EP, “EP-1.” The animated video follows the mishaps of famed singer Black Francis, who manages to run a marathon, avoid falling bombs and evade getting swallowed by a big whale in the video.
The Pixies are set to hit the road again for a new leg of their North American tour on Jan. 15 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON. The full upcoming itinerary is up on the band’s official website.
