Goo Goo Dolls Announce Acoustic Tour
Goo Goo Dolls are hitting the road this spring on an unplugged tour
Longstanding alternative pop-rock band Goo Goo Dolls are going on tour this spring, but it’s not the usual Goo trek. The John Rzeznik-fronted band has announced an intimate acoustic tour called The Otis Midnight Sessions, which will kick off in April.
According to the band, the upcoming, unplugged shows will take on a format much like the VH1’s “Storytellers” tours. As for content, the group says the set list will “dig deep” into the Goo Goo Dolls’ nearly-30-year catalog, plus offer new songs from the band’s latest full-length, 2013’s “Magnetic.”
The tour is scheduled to start April 7 in Syracuse, N.Y., and close out April 27 in Green Bay, Wis. Opening on the tour on the majority of tour dates will be California-based band Run River North. The full tour itinerary is below.
In other Goo Goo Dolls news, the band is slated to play some New York City area concerts this week leading up to the Super Bowl. They already performed with Daughtry earlies this week at The Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular in Jersey City, N.J., and they’ll also headline a VH1 concert Friday (Jan. 31) on Staten Island, N.Y. The Super Bowl is set for Sunday (Feb. 2) in East Rutherford, N.J.
