Switchfoot have earned yet another chart-topping album with their latest release, “Fading West.” The album entered the Billboard 200 chart this week at No. 6, making it Switchfoot’s third Top 10 album.
The release, which marks Switchfoot’s ninth studio album, pushed 39,000 copies in its debut week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Switchfoot’s first Top 10 album was 2005’s “Nothing is Sound,” which entered the chart at No. 3. Switchfoot’s last album, 2011’s “Vice Verses,” was their second release to land in the top 10, coming in at No. 8 in its debut week.
“Fading West” also marks Switchfoot’s fifth No. 1 album on the Christian Albums chart. Other No. 1 Christian Albums for the band include 2011’s “Vice Verses,” 2006’s “Oh! Gravity,” 2005’s “Nothing Is Sound” and 2003’s “The Beautiful Letdown.”
