Elton John Wants to Make Music with Pharrell and Kanye West
Piano rocker Elton John is a fan of electronica
Elton John appreciates a wide variety of genres of music, and for his next musical masterpiece, the piano rock legend says he wants to venture into the electronica world.
“I might do a couple of tracks with Pharrell,” John told Rolling Stone. “I don’t know…I would love to (incorporate hip-hop into my music). I just don’t know how to do it. I do love electronica. So, for me, I’d have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye [West], who I respect tremendously. I’d love to do that.”
John, apparently, is a fan of West’s rhymes and beats. A few years back, he played on one of West’s songs, “All of the Lights,” and had a great experience. “I love Kanye because he’s not afraid of taking a chance and pushing barriers” John told Rolling Stone. “Working with people like that is something that I really enjoy.”
John added that although he enjoys keeping busy with a packed tour schedule and Las Vegas concerts, his itinerary will be getting much leaner when his two kids start school. That doesn’t mean he’s over with playing live, though. “I’m not retiring, by any means,” he said. “But I am slowing down.”
