Jared Leto is Storing His Oscar in the Kitchen
Jared Leto says his Best Supporting Actor Oscar is currently sitting in his kitchen
Jared Leto snagged his first Oscar at this past Saturday’s Academy Awards, and while he’s honored with the award, he’s not giving the trophy any special treatment. Speaking with ET Canada, the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman stated the trophy is currently positioned in his kitchen, “guarded by some vegan butter and a bag of popcorn.”
Leto went on to state why the statue is simply in his kitchen. “You know, they kind of end up in the kitchen because that’s the first place that I go when I get home,” he said. “You put your keys down and you take off your jacket… and you put your Oscar in the kitchen.”
Leto had a little mishap with the Oscar the night of the ceremony. “I was letting some of the people that I work with take a picture with the Oscar, and I was carrying it down the stairs and, boom, I hit it against the stairs, the railing and I put a little nick in the back of it,” he said. “So you know, that’s how it goes. It’s already lived in, as they say.”
Leto’s Oscar is for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club.”
Meanwhile, Leto is getting ready to hit the road with 30 Seconds to Mars this summer. The band is co-headlining the Carnivores Tour with Linkin Park. AFI will serve as a special guest.
